Announcing the Promotion of Jason Di Piazza to Operating Partner
We are proud to announce the promotion of Jason Di Piazza to the position of Operating Partner. Jason will continue to carry out his responsibilities as Head of Capital Formation, where he has been a crucial member of the team since joining in March 2022.
Jason brings nearly two decades of experience advising institutional investors to Blockchain Capital, including 15 years at BlackRock and a tenure at Farallon Capital Management, applying that background to the challenge of translating crypto complexity into frameworks that pension funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices can assess with rigor. His work bridges BCAP's technical depth with institutional clarity, helping limited partners assess blockchain as a strategically distinct asset class alongside other alternative asset classes, private equity, and venture debt.
As Operating Partner, Jason will expand his impact across the firm, continuing to lead capital raising and LP engagement. He will also advance the firm's thought leadership efforts, contributing to Blockchain Capital's mission of building institutional understanding of blockchain as a foundational technology and long-term asset class.
"Jason has become critical connective tissue across the firm, between our investment team, our founders, and our limited partners," said Bart Stephens, Founder and Managing Partner of Blockchain Capital. "His ability to articulate what makes Blockchain Capital different, combined with his institutional experience and judgment, has made him an invaluable partner. We're excited to recognize his contributions and continue building with him in this expanded role."
Jason also brings his expertise to the broader ecosystem through his writing and LP education efforts, helping institutional allocators navigate the complexities of crypto venture investment.
Before joining Blockchain Capital, Jason served as Managing Director and Co-Head of the West Coast Family Office, Foundation & Endowment team at BlackRock, overseeing commercial outcomes and team development across the entire Western Region. He also led business development at Farallon Capital Management across the East Coast and Latin America.
Jason's promotion to Operating Partner is a testament to his leadership, impact, and commitment to Blockchain Capital's culture and long-term success. We are excited to see him continue to grow with us and are confident that his expanded role will further strengthen the firm and the ecosystem we serve.
